Mount Calvary Baptist Church

A woman of faith, Dr. Carolyn McLaughlin is a longstanding member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Albany, New York. Her personal mission statement is “to live each day demonstrating gratitude for what I have been given and for what I have experienced. I will do this by sharing my gifts with others and performing actions to enhance the quality of life of individuals, children, and families."
Woman’s Club of Albany, Zonta International, Girls Incorporated of the Capital Region, and Alpha Chi Omega Chi Women’s Club | 1990 – Present

A staunch advocate for the professional and social development of women and girls, Dr. McLaughlin has served as a member of the Woman’s Club of Albany and Zonta International, Scholarship Committee member of Alpha Chi Omega Chi Women’s Club — an affiliate of the National Association of Black
Women’s Club, and as past President of the Board of Directors of Girls Incorporated of the Capital Region and Vice President of the former Albany Black Women’s Association. As a member of the Albany Black Women’s Association, McLaughlin, in 2010, established the Vidie L. McLaughlin Memorial Scholarship for graduating high school girls in the Capital region, in her mother’s memory.
